Depending on how old your house is, learning it's history can be both fun and rewarding.
Start with your county building and planning department. They should have copies of original deeds and blueprints, and be able to point you in other directions for your search. Try entering your address in search engines like google, and Ask. com. Try whitepages.com and do a reverse find by address and find people who use to live there. When you find other people who lived there, ask them who lived there before them. Ask neighbors who have lived in your area a long time what they know. If you house was built around 1900 to 1930 find the local historical society and ask them.
Another strange but effective method is contacting E.V.P.'s in your house and asking them. (see link below)
Have fun, and good luck.

I have no idea and would like to know myself. The person who said the thing about the indian burial ground/pet cemetary copied that from a Southpark (c) episode.

Go or call the city/county court building. You can research old deeds there.
