Bottom says "Reason and love keep little company together nowadays" (Act 3 Scene 1, lines 139-141)

What does this mean and how does this quote sum up the theme of love in A Midsummer Night's Dream?

To me it means that reason and love are not enough to keep a relationship together. It's been a long time since I've read the play, I vaguely remember a lot of love between different couples that was switched around a lot during the story. So that would relate to the meaning simply because no one was able to stay in a relationship for very long.

It basically means that love and sense aren't found together - you'll have to decide whether "nowadays" means the night of the play or the time it was set or, indeed, any time including now.

Does your teacher know you go online and ask others to do your homework for you? There is no right or wrong answer for this. Your teacher just wants to see if you understand what you have read and if you can discuss it intelligently. And don't assume that your teachers do not come to this Answers site (they ask/answer questions for a living because they enjoy it, of course they read these). And likewise do not use one of the answers provided here, because you might be accused of plaigerism.
