Massively Multiplayer Fantasy = World of Warcraft
Its probably the most played MMORPG on the Internet right now.
Massively Multiplayer Spaceship = Eve Online
This game has a cult following and I really think its the best at what it does(spaceship battles like Star Trek or Star Wars)
Online shooters = Counterstrike Source and Battlefield 2
Second Life is a good non-violent game that seems to specialize in shopping and club dancing(although there are other things to do too).

depends what you are looking for. if you want free, online games and have a ton of time to invest in it, go play RuneScape. if you want just short games that waste time, go visit addictinggames.com since they have hundreds of them. of course, if you just want to shoot other players, Counterstrike is still a favorite.
