It's easier if you have a real Rubik's cube. If you just play with it for a couple of days, you'll notice certain patterns and should be able to solve it, I think. I bought one a few years ago, no instructions or instructors were available and it took me a night to solve it the first time but in a few days, I was able to do it in a minute or so. My roommate managed to solve it on her own in two days. She and I had quite different approaches - no wonder - she's a physicist and I'm a philologist :) Then I met my boyfriend and he had developed a totally different system to solving it, but he'd had a R cube since he was a child. It's hard to explain the patterns unless someone shows them with a real cube, I think. There are different ways to solve it - it just takes some time to figure them out.

I own a Rubik's cube, so what i do is i write what coordinate i turned it to, or as my friends like to do, just break it and put it in the exact order or take the stickers off. but if the coordinate thing doesn't work, just draw a thing of what it look like, then you can solve it.
