Ok, I've been wondering how come older men smell? Most of them smell the same. It's gross.
I work in a public store, and we have all kinds of people come in. Most of the time its the older men that hit on me and they smell so bad. I usually don't say anthing to them in fear of them telling on me. Most of the time when I see a older man that I know that smells I go and hide until he's gone. When I say "older" I mean like 70's and older. I don't know how to describe the smell....It just gross. Its been so bad on some of them sometimes I gag.

whoa...(5 minutes and still no answers?)

My take on it is that it's a basic hygiene problem. At that age and living unassisted, bathing can be a chore so they can't get into all the nooks and crannies...(urk)...I guess it's a bigger problem with old men than women because the old ladies still give a damn how they look (and smell) while the guys kinda just...let go.

My grandparents had private nurses to help them around the bathroom and stuff (they both lived past 100) so they smelled fine. But I know what you mean.

Body deteriorating. It is natural. As we get older, are body does not work the same and usually at that age, some people just don't upkeep themselves like they should. Have you ever noticed that even people your age all smell different. It can just be that too. WE all can not naturally smell the same, but then we use cologne and perfume to use a familiar scent to attract people to us. Because of the natural smell we do have, that takes part in attracting us to people and repelling us from others.

Is it a musty, kinda cobwebby smell? If so, I know what you are talking about. There is nothing to be done. Also, some older men have inconstancy problems. If it is pee and the musty smell, well I can only say...
1. Be nice.
2. Be glad you aren't a man. I am

The men you meet must have ignored their personal hygiene. Had you met my grandfather who is already 85 he smells the same as if in his young twenties. By the way he used to be a member of the Presidential cabinet. Perhaps one's status also affects "the way one smell."

I know just what you mean. My grandfather had that smell and it was gross. It was all over his pillows and the cushions on the couch because he laid around all day. I decided it was hygiene, especially a lack of cleansing the head and hair. It must have never used shampoo.

men are lazy beasts, most are. So, as they get older they don't keep clean like they should. Also, sometimes they don't use deodorant or they may use rubs that smell. Oh well. That's life.
