Because he was a amster manipulator. He was good at making people believe he was doing what was the right thing, and that they wanted him to continue doing so. People can be fooled. There's also always an insatiable need to be part of the majority. If Everyone Else Believes This, It Must Be True. That's the beauty of hind sight.

It was a time of great turmoil the worldwide depression had basically happened. Inflation was rampant. Money was worthless. A person went to a bakery with a basket of money the baker emptied the basket of money took the basket and gave the person the bread. People were frightened, scared, had no hope, no direction. Hitler had a voice, a persona very much like Osama Bin Ladin and directed them on that terrible course of history. No he was not hated or disliked by many people. He used a very large set of brainwashing techniques also. He also pointed fingers at people blaming them for the problems of the world which did not fix it. Very much like pointing fingers at the Mexican border when the terrorists came in with a student visa from the Middle East.

You have to read a lot about Him and the world situation at the times. Germany was tied up in an armistice (that was signed at the end of the war) that benefited everyone else in the world except the germans. He was a gifted orator and he come to a time that people was in need to believe in something, or somebody.
He gave hope to the people who listen to him and by using his habilities was able to get some backing from powerfull people eg: military.
Sadly enought he believed in himself too much for his own good.
People of his habilities and skills are the ones that today are in charge of most goverments and big companies.
I would dare to say that maybe...just maybe...more people hate Bush or Bill Gates then ever people hated Hittler.

Just for the record... i dont like Adolf...

Germany was in shambes after World War 1, then Hitler came along. He was a very good speaker and could get his point across in a way that the German people understood. Because of his insanity, mostly due to Syphalis, he created what is now know as The Holicaust.

already, three who were deaf, two who were blind,
one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis, would
you recommend that she have an abortion?

chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of
whiskey every evening.

Pretty interesting isn't it?

And Finally, can you imagine working for a company
that has a little more than 500 employees and has
the following statistics:
* 29 have been accused of spousal abuse
* 7 have been arrested for fraud
* 19 have been accused of writing bad checks
* 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at
least 2 businesses

Can you guess which organization this is?

It's the 535 members of the United States Congress.
The same group that crank out hundreds of new laws
each year
designed to keep the rest of us in line.

.... food for thought.

The German people were in a horrible state of being and Hitler knew exactly what to say in order to get his way. He was an amazing public speaker and manipulator. The people were being brainwashed without even realizing it. Granted some accepted his beliefs as their own and followed them wholeheartedly but the civilians themselves were unaware of exactly what was going on.

I am not a historian, but - as I understand it - the Germans at the time did not hate him at all-! He got to be so popular because he took a German economy that was in very bad shape and he changed it into a much better one-!! Anyone who fixes a damaged economy anywhere will automatically get the respect and the admiration of the people - again - AT THE TIME-!!

Crack a book, Twinkie. The allies forced Germany into a shameful Armistice, then the Jews bled Gemany white. Hitler offered them national pride glory for the race.

They didn't start out hating him. He was a sauve talker that persuaded people to follow his beliefs and as time went on he got more power crazy. If you were bought up to those beliefs (they taught it in the schools) you weren't to know any different or better. The same as you are taught by the media and school that your country is the best and your beliefs are the right ones.
