they have a small outside chance, but they are going to need a lot of luck and an undefeated season to get the invite. a bigger name school can still get the #2 spot with 1 loss, but not west virginia.

Yes. If this team is undefeated in the regular season, which is quite possible, they could get the chance to play in the championship game. If anybody out there can figure out the BCS ranking procedure that puts the no.1 and no. 2 ranked teams in the "national championship" game, I'd like to know. I'm not a fan of the current BCS system. WVU has a schedule that a lot of fans would call weak and the BCS may hold that against the Mountaineers in their BCS ranking. If ND and USC and Ohio State and Texas all have 1 loss and WVU is undefeated, it will be
very interesting to see which two are ranked highest in the BCS rankings. I think WVU will suffer from the weak schedule but have a marvelous team and could go 12-0.

OK oldtimer WVU is part of the BCS as they are part of the BIG EAST. Yeah that is the weaker part of the BCS since Miami and Virgina Tech were a sses and bolted after the Big East helped them so much. Although how big of as ses were the ACC that they went robbing like that. Anyway back to the point. They don't have much chance. Being in the Big East hurts them UNLESS Pitt can show it can be a powerhouse and Louisville shows up like they are supposed to. Yeah USC was in a weak confrence but no one held it against them the way it is held against the Big East. I guess because the Pac-10 had been weak all along and the Big East basically just collapsed. Anyway get a few tough teams in their with WVU and it makes WVU look better. Although don't expect the Backyard Brawl to be so easy again this year. Pitt held their own through most of the game last year, and I think they are a little better this year. Well ok they won their first game so I know they are little better then that mess of last year.

West Virginia HAs a chance at a BCS Bowl, but to win a national Title, theyld haveta go undefeated and pray to god the elite teams in the nation, Notre Dame, USC, OHio State, FLorida, Miami, etc, ALL lose atleast one game. Because if any of them are undefeated, the teams from the power conferences like the Big Ten, Pac 10, SEC, ACC, Big 12, etc... theyll ALWAYS get preferential treatment over a Big East Team like WVU, even if WVU is clearly better.

A lot of things would have to fall right for them to get into that game. They would pretty much have to go unbeaten, and that won't be to easy, you do have a date in Louisville, plus Pitt and Rutgers may give you a challenge as well. And, the other contenders would have to have at least one loss (USC, Notre Dame, Ohio St, Auburn, etc.). Hate to say this, but if two of these teams are unbeaten, or two have one loss, the Mountaineers may be shut out. What hurts them is strength of schedule. Outside of Louisville, they really don't play any "big boys". Good luck though, would be nice to see someone other than the usual suspects play for the title.

No. They are in the Big East. This is a BCS Conference, but the larger conferences have too much interest in having one of the power conferences in the national title game. The Big East lost a lot when Miami, Virginia Tech, and BC defected to the ACC.

nope, in the event that they bypass undefeated, then they might desire to be in. i think of they have a good shot. the protection nonetheless has some issues, however the offense is going to be dominant, and how the can run the ball, they are able to regulate the clock easily. Now that pat white has had yet another to boost, he would be much extra risky as a passer, making determining of the unfold much less complicated. And in simple terms through fact everybody is time-honored with of that they are going to run the ball plenty does not mean they are able to do anyhing approximately it. everybody knew that final 365 days and look what occurred, and everybody knew that vince youthful became going to get the ball on the final play interior the rose bowl, he nonetheless scored. i think of that louisville will probably beat west virginia this 365 days, now that they have got michael bush at one hundred% and brohm back and extra suited, even though it rather is going to be a great game to computer screen

The schedule favors them to go undefeated, but the power ranking would not get them in. They need some help along the way with other team having more than 1 loss.
