i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

I suppose it was inevitable really. Great shame though, what a character he was eh? My kids thought he was great ( so did I , I really liked him), but you know the old saying : Don't play with fire, cos you'll get burnt .
I feel for his family too . Let's hope that he can carry on chasing wild and poisonous creatures in the after life, it's what he loved doing .

Right I was thinking the same thing always having to or being pushed to go further or do more.
Being pushed by greedy television executives for more and better stuff.
Sad sad world
He was doing what he loved though

I don't think so.
He died due to a sting ray barb in the chest. While it's true he was filming a documentary, I don't think his life was specially jeopardised.
It's not like the producers of the documentary asked him to dive among feeding sharks or something like that.
This seems like it was an accident. Just a sad accident.

I believe so.
I can only hope that in my lifetime, I find something that I am as passionate about as he was. I mean that man had real heart and LOVE for what he did.
I thought you were joking, terri is going to be sad, and his kids...that sux for them.

I don't think HE would think of it as being a victim. He died doing exactly what he loved doing. Don't we wish that would happen to all of us.
