The reason why I started this was to find out which next generation console do you prefer and why? Also, I really wanted to participate in another website(gamespot.com) with the same question that stirred up quite a conversation. But unfortunately it was not free to participate and so I did not feel the need to pay for a subscription fee only for one topic of interest. For some odd reason the topic turned into which country had the best technology in terms of video games and a lot of people were very upset by it. People were also upset that the price of the PS3 is going to be $599+ and they compared it to the price of the 360 which is $399. People were also upset that the PS3 would have been cheaper had it not been for the blue-ray technology(Im not going in detail so to find out why Sony decided to put it in go to gamespot.com and read the section on the interview with Sony's President). After reading it I totally agreed and understand why they did it. Personally I prefer the PS3.

If you want to start out by talking about what country has the best workmanship of the two systems, then you need to look no further than Sony. Sony is made in Japan where the best electronics come from, the 360 is made in the good old u.s.a, and we all know that most things made here, especially electronics are always second best. I like the PS3 as well, even though i am not to happy with the cost i do understand all of the features and the high quality parts that Sony is using in the system. Sony knows that it is asking a lot for the PS3, but they also know that it is a great system that they are putting out. I just remember that i get what i pay for. I don't think arguing all day is going to change anyone mind because if you love Sony then nothing will change your mind and if you love Microsoft then nothing as well will change there mind either. The 360 is an ok system, 6 of my friends bought it and 2 said it was good and the other 4 said they were let down with the system, and one of my friends just the other day had his 360 red light and blow up on him. I trust Sony, i have had the PS2 for over 3 years now and have had zero problems with it. I can't wait for the PS3 to come out in November, I'm foaming at the mouth.

It is pretty sad when backwards compatibilty is the big issue in getting a PS3, but with no titles at launch worth purchasing I can see why that is the push now. Fall of Man? That game looks horrible. Should have stuck to the prerendered movies and not shown any gameplay footage before launch. PS3? No thanks Sony. Back to the drawing board along with your laptop batteries and no rumble feature in your PS3. I might still get one to mow my lawn though, it seems to do everything according to these message boards, slices, dices, etc. Now if they could jsut figure out how to get the guts from the programing units into that little package and stop the fires and melting they are all set!

Seriously a few titles that will show you the superior system.
1) Saint's Row ( no sandbox game for PS3 till nov of next year, which will also be on xbox 360

2)Gears of War (do a search if you havnt heard about this game, then slap youself :))

3) Too Human

4) Crackdown

Where are the Sony exclusives? Fall of Man (Ugly little game) Warhawk (horrible controls, the designer couldnt even land the plane on the plateform in the demo at E3, it fell of the landing plateform, horrible controls) And not rumble feature? Talk about a time machine, might as well go back to a joystick and 1 button while we are at it.

Till we see the PS3 in action a year or two from now (and the price breaks) go with the 360 have had one since nov. No problems, great fun, and achievements!

ps3 may win this new gen console war by sheer luck
Ps3 has had a lot of work in ironing out the bugs but judging by the quality of the stuff its prepared to dish out it may also crash and burn this is a very risky gamble for sony right now they have to keep working since nintendo is cheaper and revolutionarily unique the xbox 360 has next to real life graphics the ps3 has to have a very good trump card if it is to beat the next gen consoles the only trump card i think they may have might be assasins creed , gears of war and most likely Metal Gear Solid 4

Xbox 360 is better because they got the best hardware, but PS3 will have the best games so its a difficult question to answer, also i think that the Xbox 360 price will come down just before la launching of the PS3 making it more accesible for people to buy it.

The ps3 because the hardware is already built into it you dont have to pay extra. Better Computing power... The 360 is basically a 5 year old computer..

Ps3 also has free online services.. So you dont have to keep payin and payin and payin

from what i have read the ps3 has the most memory, best graphics, best sound, is going to include motion sensing controllers, and is using blue ray technology, not to mention i am a die hard final fantasy fan and there is a rumor that they are redoing the best game ever, "final fantasy VII"

You can't really compare them until PS3 comes out. But I like the way Nintendo's new system is looking.

Xbox 360. Price and performance balance well. Xbox live is awesome too, and you can't go wrong with Halo 3.
