CD Burner/DVD technology is "well cooked" at this point so getting the best brand isn't so important as it used to be, almost anything you buy will work fine.
Some good brands in optical drives are - NEC, Lite-On, Pioneer, Sony, Samsung, HP and Plextor.
I would look more at price and what software they come with and not worry about brands so much.

Just beware that an OEM version of the burner is going to be a lot cheaper. Most OEMs don't include software, and you have to go back to the vendor for any problems. So if you bought an OEM NEC drive, NEC wouldn't support replacing it. Only the dealer you bought from would.
