Hey Bubby, It was a liberal who dropped the bomb. A Democrat named Harry S. "Give em Hell" Truman. So they obviously know the truth and wanted to end the war. They did not want to keep the war going like conservatives want to keep the Iraq war going so they can keep giving no bid contract to their friends and keep the price of gas high so that when this administration ends and they good back to work for their oil companies they will have nice big bonus checks waiting for them.

What does being liberal have to do with this? And what, praytell, is the "truth"?

Until you realise the pain of being melted, or having cancer due to radioactivity, or losing family and friends, don't make a blanket statement that claims that many Japanese are "thankful" that the war ended in the manner it did. I don't think anyone was thankful that they were melted into the pavement.

No, they won't.... and it further irks them that Harry Truman, a Democrat, had the balls and foresight to go ahead with the deployment of the plutonium and uranium nuclear bombs to end the War with Japan....

They also will not admit that more than ten times the # of Japanese were killed with conventional bombing that were killed with the two nuclear weapons.

They know the USA was right to use the bombs, but they have this need to believe the US is always wrong.... that need comes from their association with the LEFT and its ideology...

you do realize that a land invasion of japan would have been normandy 10x over? if the japanese were willing to create a unit of suicide plane pilots, how crazy do you think they would have been if the americans had invaded their homeland? and until you go to hiroshima, visit the memorial, and talk to the people about how horrific it is, dont even consider saying lies like "many Japanese are thankful"

Yes, it might be a good idea to remember what happened.

We should recall our past, so that we can deal with the present better.

A preemptive strike against Iran might need to be taken to save American lives.
