Main Entry: athe·ist
Pronunciation: 'A-thE-ist
Function: noun
: one who believes that there is no deity
- athe·is·tic /"A-thE-'is-tik/ or athe·is·ti·cal /"A-thE-'is-ti-k&l/ adjective
- athe·is·ti·cal·ly /-ti-k(&-)lE/ adverb
Just a Little clarification so everyone knows what the real issue is here.
The best thing I can tell you, My friend, is that YOU cannot save the world byu yourself , believe me I have tried, and have also found out ONE BIG profound truth. The one who requires the most saving is yourself. Start There. It is entirely impossible to convince the Masses to believe as yoou do. Not that you're wrong, but who are you really responsible for! Just You! And noone else. Be Glad! You wouldn't want the responsibility of everyone would you? So go back to the basics and find YOUR way. DO NOT worry about those you don't agree with or don't agree with you because you don't owe them anything and they surely won't give you anything but a bad time.
Best wishes.

I am not an Atheist, I'm an Agnostic. In case you don't know the difference, an Agnostic is one who questions the existence of a Diety. The reason I'm Agnostic is that I have seen no real proff that God exists. People tell me to have faith. Faith and a dollar fifty will get me a cup of coffee. People say to read the bible. People wrote the bible. People lie every day. Why should I believe them on this one. I believe man created God in his image and likeness much more than the other way around. As to my having no hope, I hope I'm wrong and there is a loving and caring God. You see, I hope that if there is a God that He won't be the vindictive, hatefull, jelous, spitefull God you have created, that will damn me to Hell for all eternity. I don't live a lifestyle that I believe will send me to that kind of fate, but I hear from a lot of "loving, caring, religious" folks that that is precisely what their god has in mind for me. No thanks, if that is who and what God is you live in fear. I'm good just the way I am.

So you would rather they just SAY they believe in something? Do you really think that will save them? It's very hard to just start believing something with no proof - from their point of view. That would be like me telling you- if you believe in a tiny fairy called Iwo who lives on Mars, you will inherit 10 million dollars when you turn 50. You can't just START believing. For one, we know there is no life on Mars. You may say you believe in Iwo, but do you truly, deep in your heart? You might convince yourself you almost believe because you want that money- but Iwo would know the truth. To many atheists and agnostics, it feels very self-serving to just believe IN CASE it might be true. They would rather be true to themselves. It would seem to be a cop out to agree (start believing) just to cover their asses. They would rather stick to what they feel deep in their gut.

You know, it's a sign of maturity when we can accept diversity in people, even if we don't share the same beliefs...and I'm not an atheist or an agnostic...I'm a Christian...
