i'd go along with that. It's one thing for someone to be quiet about things, but lots of people act as if they are in the privacy of their own home, talking loud, cussing, laughing loud. Due to the fact that some people don't have any common sense, the rest of us with it have to suffer. Decency should tell you where u should and should not use ur cell phone.

I don't believe that cell phones shold be banned from establishments, but merely muted. Put the phone on vibrate or turn it off and let it go to voicemail. There is no reason to ban them due to emergencies, which is the sole purpose most people have cell phones in the first place. Chirch is a place where you shouldn't be disturbed. Everyone should be able to worship in peace, as well as for the theater.

Churches & theatres, fine.
But I have seen too many people having loud conversations in restaurants (esp. at the bar!) without a cell phone in sight, to believe that this is a rational ban.

As a Single Parent -- I want to be able to have my phone on Vibrate and be able to see the Caller ID information -- and YES, I will step outside for a minute or two if I see that it is something urgent -- otherwise, I will let my Digital Voice Mail pick up the message. Same with being in Church, or Theater -- or anyplace public.

I think it's a great idea. Does anybody have any manners anymore. I Don't care about someone else's life or phone conversation. People act like talking on the cell means you are part of some exclusive club. Get over it people, if you aren't in your car or outside, turn it OFF!!!

I'd go along with it. It's not hard to step outside if you must use your cell phone. It's rude to use it in church, theaters, and certain restaurants.

Yes they should. Really people should know better but since they don't they should be banned. It's rude to hear them in church and the movies....Restaurants don't bother me but it's rude if it's the person I am having dinner with.

Well, they should be restricted at places like churches who use wireless mics. The cell phones interfere with the signals.

I think it's a wonderful idea!
They should be banned everywhere!!!
I think they should bring back phone booths and people with cell phones should have to get inside the booth to talk on their phones so everybody else doesn't have to listen to their flipping conversations!!!
who's with me???
cell phone booths!!!!
brilliant!
