interrogations are with the current rules that have to be followed? They burn our flag, yet our interrogators are not allowed to hold their holy book over a toilet, oh and they have the right to be issued their holy book in the first place? And what about that huge photo "scandal"? Sure, I would not like to be photographed in a compromising scene naked, but since when are interrogations supposed to be comfortable? Isn't any information that a member of a terrorist cell have, time sensitive? Do you really think that a member of a terrorist group, who has deep hatred for the U.S., is going to spill his guts in the first 12 hours of capture by being verbally outwitted? I have been wondering about this, so any answers would be appreciated!

I don't know, I just don't get it, I thought we were supposed to be a t war. I'm sorry, but whenever you go to war, you don't think about the other peoples rights, you just do what you need to to get the information from them you need and then move on.

You've been watching too much '24'. Real interrogators in real MI units know that the key to getting information from someone is to build their trust. That might mean the inclusion of pressure tactics, but the use of violence or cruelty has the opposite effect of what we're after- getting the truth.
And yes, we do live up to a higher standard. That's because we're not terrorists, no matter how much some people would like us to be in order to fulfill their homoerotic fantasies.

You are in left field somewhere!! Plus that you want to break treaties and laws, just like you leader!

The more you torture someone the least accurate information you are going to get! Interrogation is a valid tool, and can work! But not torture! They either die on you or give you false information just to make you stop!

We knew about the cells and we didn't have to torture anyone! We just failed to do anything about them! They were actively being followed at the time by the FBI!

And, what do you think our people are doing in other countries? Twiddling there thumbs?

Interrogations are governed by the Geneva Convention where only the name and unit of the prisoner is allowed to be asked. Prisoners are supposed to be given humane treatment and respected.

It is a fact that torture by professionals only gets prisoners to tell the captors what they want to hear. I think drugs are ok...Sodium Pentathol (sp?). I don't know how effective it is though.

And those jerks in the photo scandals were not professional interrogators, but soldiers abusing their uniform.

actually yes, sides do u really think everyone follows that garbage about not being able to lay a hand on them. but what happens is that you establish a relationship with the person and give a little bit to him and he gives you info.

Of course it is a waste of time, we have to coddle them. I want to thank the liberals for this, if we do not get our act together and fight a war we are going to die.
