You're really playing with fire here.
In the first place, you have a violent, alcoholic husband. Now you've brought a lover into the mix. Are you trying to get yourself killed?
Yes, you should leave this jerk but DO NOT go to your lover or anywhere near him. Call up a women's shelter and ask them if there is room for you. They are usually crowded and busy so you may have to wait for a while.
Break it off with your lover!!! I can't tell you how serious I am about this. If your husband finds out there is an extremely good chance that he will kill you both. Do not risk the lives of the both of you because you want to feel good. Once you get rid of your awful husband you will have plenty of time for that kind of thing.
Once you get yourself and your kids into a shelter, they will help you find a lawyer and get the legal matters straightened out.
I don't know how dangerous your husband is or how often he abuses you but a simple restraining order will not protect you if your husband has made up his mind that he'd rather see you dead then have you leave him. Perhaps he'll be reasonable but I wouldn't bet my life on it.
Take the advice of the shelter workers. They have been around these kinds of problems for years and will know the best way for you to proceed.

You should call the cops and file a restraining order. As for the guy that wants to be with you , wait a while. Give yourself time to heal. If he cares for you he will understand and wait. You should try to find some refuge with either friends or family. Bottom line, you should not be with him in an abusive relationship! Happiness is what really matters, you should not be where you are not happy. The kids will be better off without an abusive father. They will grow up to either hating him or just like him.

You need to pack your things while he is at work. FAST. Get a storage in the new guys name. Take your kids to a friends house that your husband does not know and is not easily found by just driving around. Get to the police and put report to them. Yes I know it is scary but it will help, They do not take this lightly anymore. Go to the court house with the police report and file for a restraining order. And tell them you will need to have a police available to you because he will come after you. File for a divorce and tell the new guy that you want to be with him. But things are bad and you want to do things right. Let him know where you are and ask him if he is willing to help you..... Maybe you two can move away, Get it done fast. NO MAN HAS THE RIGHT TO HIT YOU OR ABUSE YOU IN ANYWAY>>>>>.

Easy get in the car with the kids and go, or round up some brothers or cousin and do it dat way. The hardest thing for a woman leaving a man beating them is leaving them because they dont really want too.

you call the police, he can kill you or your kid(s), don't play around with him, thinking that your safe, cause even if your not with him, he will find you, get someone involved that can help you, and keep that man away from you,
