To those who have professed commitment to one another -- that commitment extends beyong physical fidelty. Faithfulness includes emotional, spiritual fidelity as well. Most "affairs" do not begin with a pure physical attraction, but emotional.

It is only cheating if your partner has a problem with it. If someone has cyber sex and feels the need to hide it from their partner, it is a betrayal of trust and is indeed a form of cheating. If the cyber sex is in the open, and your partner sees it as harmless fun, no harm done and it is not cheating. It is all a matter of being HONEST with your partner. My answer is: Yes and No. It can be either one.

The act of cheating is not in where you put your body or even what you do with it. The act of cheating takes place in the mind.
So, yes. Phone sex, cybersex, masturbating to pornography, or even thinking about someone else while you are making love to your spouse is being unfaithful.
(I don't mean to sound extreme, since I'm not a religious fanatic or anything remotely like that, but right is right and wrong never will be.)

Getting sexual gratification from any one but your partner is cheating-- no matter HOW you are getting it. If you go to a club alone, and you "accidentally" kiss a stranger on the dance floor, you've cheated. Fantasy when you're alone is one thing, but a sexual exchange over the internet is another...

Yes. When you are committed to someone, then you are committed to performing sex acts with them and only them. Getting off while talking to someone on the internet is no different than outright cheating. You should be satisfying your sexual needs with your partner, not a machine.

I believe so. I mean why would one do so, its like a person talking on the sex chat lines, and stuff like that if they are married, why cant they do that with the person whom they claim to love, their spouce. i dont agree with it at all, and if i found out that my bf was cyber sexing then i would act the same way as if i had found out he was messing around with someone in real life.

If it's on a personal level, yes. In other words you both tell each other your real names and exchange real life details with one another.
If it's all based on untruth and the other party knows nothing about you on any level, I would have to say, No!
All men lust and all men have thoughts of being with other woman, so don't bring this up. It's not part of the question.

I wouldn't do it, personally I would feel guilty of experiencing any kind of sexual moment with anyone other than my wife. Whether it be anonymous on line cyber sex or not.
