It's not so much that there can't be anything beyond it. It is just that for the time being it doesn't matter. First we could never escape our universe because we can't travel faster than the speed of light with our current understanding of it. Second the universe is (supposedly) a self-contained system: the outside has no effect on us. Third if we were able to escape this universe, it is likely that what lies outside is described by different rules to a degree that we would not expirience it and it would not expirience us.
This is all dependant on our understanding of physics however, so if it dramatically changes, the first two points especially could become void (I know the second is already being argued quite a bit). The last question to me seems almost as dependant on philosophy as it is on physics though, and god knows that only complicates things.

I think that the shape of the universe is 'spherical', because if bigbang was true like any explosion matter would disperse radially in the shape of a sphere.
Universe is expanding like a baloon, this baloon contains galaxies and the vacancy is just vacuum.
Beyond the universe is "nothingness", where even light cannot travel.
So if there is another universe just next to ours we will not be able to see it.
You can have trouble in accepting the fact that there is no boundary or end. Think the otherway round, just imagine if there was a sphere wall which was the end of the universe then you will ask how thick that is and whats beyond, we are better off keeping things simple the universal truth is "nothingness", bigbang like events creates bubbles like baloons which expand into this "nothingness".

the universe is not spherical, (sphere is a 3 D shape the universe is 4D or now research is going on to find other dimensions.) its a 4D Shape, what a 4D shape looks like, no one knows, we cannot imagine or perceive a 4D universe, and is it possible to escape it, well if we don't know what the universe looks like how can we escape it. the end you talk about, the word end is our concept, every thing we see around us has an end, so we assume that every thing has an end, which might not be true.
we do know what is on the "other side" we don't have to go out side the universe to see it. The universe is made up of matter (and energy) matter (for sake of simplification) is made up of atoms. atoms hav spaces in between them, these spaces are vacuum. so we can safely assume that on the other side of the universe there would be total vacuum.(by the way the space is not a true vacuum, there is a very very thin gas present there.

The universe that all of us understand grew to become into supposedly created some billion years in the past. yet what grew to become into till now that? i could think of yet another universe. And a universe previous that one and so on. of path, there's no thank you to actual tell if this is sweet. I recommend, something must be on the exterior. Empty area, or basically no longer something. some scientists think of that the universe is ever increasing, and that there's no end to it. As for clever existence varieties, i could say confident. I recommend, this universe is so vast, and there are a lot of stars and planets out ther, this is not user-friendly for me to think of there no longer being the different clever existence varieties obtainable. i've got theory approximately this plenty too. this is particularly plenty pushed me insane =) i could recommend analyzing some books approximately time and area. They helped me plenty.

Either the universe is expanding into some extra-universal zero-energy field or else it expanding by overlaying matter & energy onto a pre-existing 5th-11th dimensional array of strings upon which all matter & energy are now expressing themselves as the illusion of how we perceive reality.
Most estimates make our universe a 4-dimensional saddle-shape. There are other universes that bump into and merge with ours on a continuous basis.

If you assume the premise that there has to be an end to this universe then why not another universe. America Existed long before weknew about it, other palnets existed without us knowing about them so why not anothe universe.

by definition NOTHING ( i prefer the STEADY STATE THEORY matter is continuously being created at the rate it decays EVERYWHERE no BIG BANG no beginning no end ) we can only see a tiny fraction of EVERYWHERE the big bang theory is because we are misinterpeting the small portion of the universe that we can see ( solves all of those pesky big bang and heat death problems ) in reality we will never know the source of the universe
