I have just installed a Harbor Breeze ceiling fan with light kit and remote control (all came with the fan) and when I press the High setting on the remote, the blades move as though they are on Low. What could be the problem?

Does it go at high speed when you press the Low button? If so, it may be wired incorrectly. Ceiling fan speeds are regulated by a little device that gives power to either high, medium, or low settings; if you get high when you should be getting low, and so on, my guess would be that it's wired so that the "high" wire is going to the "low" speed regulator.

A ceiling fan does not have a capacitor. Read the instructions. . . You probably have to have the pull chain in high position. . . the remote controls a rheastat that controls speed. . . but you have to start out on high.

The problem maybe in the capacitor of the Fan. A weak or faulty capacitor makes it difficult for the fan to achieve full speed.contact your vendor and get the capacitor checked.

If there is a chain for speed control. Try pulling it.

If you were the one who installed it you might want to check the "neutral" and "hot" wires because they might be reversed. If you did not install them you should check with your electrician.
