I went out with a girl on the weekends. We did not go out on dates, I suggested it would be fun to hang out; we were both bored on the weekends--all my friends are married and can't hang out. I enjoyed her company; I was the guy I figured I should still pay--she also enjoyed herself, she told me she had fun. She let me pay the first time but the second time she begged to pay, so she paid. I felt like she paid more on the second time than I paid on the first time. In response I baught her a ten dollar book to pay the difference. Everything is fine, but the day after a party we went to, not together and I really didn't talk her that night, she said that "we were only friends." I felt insulted because I do not find her attractive and I didn't want anything more than friends. I wasn't mean in my response I just told her that if she were reacting to the book I baught her, I only baught it to be nice. Now she won't talk to me, I'm bored on the weekends again. How can I make it up?

First, you shouldn't feel like you 'made up' for the extra spent money.

You know what I've learned? EVERY time you open your mouth to explain something--you get in deeper!! and that is the truth! You don't OWE her an explanation!!

She doesn't owe you an explanation.

Maybe you two weren't as good as friends, as you thought!
