A logo can be a symbol, or a picture that a person will identify with a service or product instantly when they see it.
An example of a logo is the eye that CBS television network uses or McDonald's twin golden arches. You see them on the highway and you know that a MickeeDees is somewhere around. :)

Think of Target, Dunkin Donuts, your local grocery store, MacDonalds, Burger King, General Electric, Apple Computer, etc. If you think about the picture they use to advertise -- that is the company logo

There are logos everwhere. Pepsi, coke, Cambells Soup the list goes on and on look in your kitchen you will find plenty of logos.

Look at any commercial product that you use. Things like Kellogg's cereals, Hertz rentals, United Airlines.
