If you don't get them at all and your belly does not get bigger after birth.....how can you get them?

No, No. I'm not asking how to prevent stretch marks... I saw on a question here that said you can get stretch marks after the baby is born when your belly goes down, I am wondering how that is possible, lol.

i understand what you mean .i didn't get stretch marks during pregnancy but additional stretching during delivery has left me with a few on the sides of my belly ,and also rapid weight loss after pregnancy can cause stretch marks -make sure to moisturize your skin before and few month after delivery. however it is my experience that if they aren't too many they will fade in time .hope this helps.

I know exactly what ur talking about b/c when I gave birth to my first child I didnt' have a stretch mark one on my belly just on my sides and then after I had her I ended up with 3 stretch marks on my belly and a butt load of them on the insides of my legs. My dr. told me that it is called invisible stretching or invisible stretch marks but afterwards when your skin relaxes and you have that release of all those hormones they just pop up. You technically got them while u were pregnant they just didnt show till afterward and some of the ones like on the inside of your legs close to your birthing area gets marks from the stretch of the pushing and the baby coming out. It sucks don't it. You think you made it through without any then here they come. I feel your pain!!!!

you don't get the stretch marks after the baby is born you get them while your stomach is expanding. Not everyone gets them it depends on the skin of the woman. Stretch marks are actually tears in the skin and they will not go away after wards, first they're blue eventually they turn white. You can partly avoid them if you smooth cream with cocoa butter or shea butter over your belly early on and continue during the whole pregnancy,

when the skin tried to contract and it was stretched to far i thought I'd get off easy with out them but no they appears when the body is tiring to use it's elasticity of the skin it's like a rubber band raped around a ball for 10 months take it off and it's bigger not the same bounce it's stretched

If you have them now you did get them while you where pregnant but they may not have been as noticeable, then after the birth the skin is not stretched tight anymore and tries to go back to it's original condition. The marks left on the skin is the separation of collagen of the skin. If you have them most likely your mother has them also. The best way to prevent them from occurring is to take in plenty of fluids while you are pregnant.

You really shouldn't be getting anymore after the birth, they were probably all there before, you just didn't notice them.

Or if you mean how do you get *rid* of them, then sorry, nothing short of plastic surgery or time can fix that. You can try lotions, they seem to help some people, and possibly exercise to try and get the area toned back up again, and they will fade with time, but you will probably always be able to find them on yourself from now on.

Just read your additional details: If you're noticing some now, then I'd say they were there before, you just didn't notice them because of how tight your skin was all over. But now, with no baby, fluid, or placents in there, you're left with just some extra, saggy, yucky skin, that you can plainly see all the marks on.

You are suppose to use cocoa butter Before hand. Strech marks can occur with rapid weight gain OR loss. You probably get them when your belly gets bigger, but do not appear until the baby is out.

Some advice, I used cocoa butter that was petroleum based everysingle day from before I started to show until the vert end, and I never got one stretch mark. You really have to be consistant with it if you attempt to use it - but it works!

I have never heard of this before you can get them during the pregnancy due to the skin been stretched so far but not after when the tummy goes down. you may get them on the breast when your milk comes in tho is this what you mean.

you mean how do you get them or how do you get rid of them?

stretch marks are caused by your skin stretching. when you have a baby, obviously your stomach is getting bigger, stretching the skin. after you have the baby, its sort of like you have extra skin (the marks). not everyone gets them though.

You can get stretch marks from the pregnancy or from weight gain. They're that kind of pink color.

After the abdomen shrinks they turn kind of silvery-white. That may be what someone is talking about if they're talking about after.
