the younger generation is just discovering their music that was great in the 80's and still is, i saw them in 1985 on the power slave tour with twisted sister opening, one i will never forget

they have a solid marketing plan
promo, solid consistant music, carefull planing is the key
they advertize much more than most traditional metal acts, so even if the stuff is not as good or they dont have the range of say Judas Priest, they get more fans, thru the lack of range and the steady marketing

I love Iron Maiden.Look at all the crap we have listened to for the past 10 years.What's old is new again because people are searching for something better.
