i live in indiana, about 10 minutes away from louisville, ky. all of the local news channels constantly refer to my 'area' as "Kentuck-iana"..combining the two states' names. has anyone else noticed the same thing where they live? or is this just some strange redneck thing to do?

Wow, I send my apologies your way, that's just brutal. They don't really do that where I live but I hate it when the media, or anyone for that matter, grabs a hold of something they think is "cute" and keeps on pushing it.
There are lots of examples I can think of but I'll spare you and me the agony of reading them.

It is confusing! I was in Louisville earlier this year and after regulating my blood sugar back to normal after a swig of swee tea...I noiced this irritatin reference.

well in the northeast corner of texas, about 250 miles from me is a city named texarkana. it's on the border of texas and arkansas. so i guess in a way.

well, i live in what is considered the "four state area" -- it's missouri, arkansas, kansas and oklahoma -- in arkansas, there is a city called texarkana (i'll let you figure that one out)....
