Lemon contains vitamin C and it's supposed to lighten dark pigments on your skin.
You should try only a bit on the area around your armpit to see if you are allergic to it before using it on your face.
Also, when you put on the lemon juice (fresh ones) on your face, sit in the darker area (DO NOT go out or go under the sun, the juices will absorb the UV rays), wait for 15 mins and wash it off.
I would recommend it doing it at night (so you dont go under the sun), but it's more of a natural recipe, so it does take a longer while before you actually see the results.

Never tried it. It removes enamel from teeth. Don't put it on your skin. Try Normaderm by Vichy. It lightens red marks and scars. Also AVON has a product that does the same. I just bought the Normaderm on sale at the Drug store for $19.

Lemon juice is too acidic and abrasive to use on your face. It does have a fading quality, but it's not worth the extra dry skin you'll get, or the acne. It would take a truckload full to fade skin.
It's usually used on clothing (or your hair) that can be dried in bright sunshine.

probably not a good idea if you have sensitive skin. crush up an aspirin and mix with water to make a paste, then leave on skin for a couple of minutes if you're looking for a cheap way to exfoliate. aspirin is salicylate which is a darn good mild acid.

Ive used it on my elbows, but not on my face. I wouldnt recommend it. It peeled the skin off my elbows. I was told that it would soften them and make them lighter, well they were sore and peeling. Dont use lemon juice on your face!

Really all that lemon juice on your face does, sometimes, is lighten up freckles.

Don't recommend it, lemon juice is an acid and may turn your skin blotchy or cause it to severely dry out
