Either you work for a rich parent who owns the company, or you do something illegal like sell drugs and take your chances on getting caught and not needing a job because you'll be in prison. No College degree and earning over 40,000? You are dreaming unless you can land a great factory job that pays like $20 an hour. Best of luck.

First it depends on the type of person you are, how smart you are ; emotional intellegence, people skills are far more important in determining your success. However thats why your suppose to go through college, or atleast get a two-year associates degree, because education and learning how to handle life experiences and people are the only way to become financially successful. You should also read and exercise daily because your never too young to start good habits.
Now for a more direct answer, grown people are the ones who own and run companies who worked their way up to 40,000 + a yr. and they just aren't going to hire a teenager at 40,000 a year. The only jobs that come close are waiting tables in upscale restuarants, possibly car sales. For faster more secure ways to move up you might consider skills training (but still involves classroom hours). For other ideas check out Connecting MBTI Personality for personal direction, you will find alot out about yourself, and who knows maybe you'll discover a hidden talent or two in yourself! GOOD-LUCK!

Well, if you want to make $40,000 a year, you have 3 options:
1) Become a hooker
2) Win the lottery
3) Go to college
I think I'd choose #3. Very rarely will you succeed without a college degree. Unless you're definition of success is flipping burgers.

I think that working a regular job to get you going and alsp having a home business is the way to do it. You are then working for yourself and there is no limit on the amount of money you can make. There are plenty of people who make a decent amount of money without college. An example is Henry ford who made Ford motor company only had a third grade education.
My home business has helped supplement my income pretty well and pretty soon I will be able to do it full time. You should check it out. Its called Ameriplan.

If you are 18 years old you can make a lucrative living in Network Marketing. It is all based on a reputable company and your actions. If you are not afraid to work hard you can easily make over 6000.00 a month in about 6 months of starting. You would be working for yourself but the business plan would be given to you to follow. Research the Network Marketing companies out there. My experience is Arbonne International to be one of the BEST.

You could work at a manufacturing plant as an operator. After a few years, with 30-40 hours of overtime each week, you may hit $40K.
Go to college. It's 4 years out of your life, you'll have fun, learn a LOT about yourself, meet people who will be your friends for life and you will have doors opened for you that a HS diploma will not get you. You won't regret it.

Well, you don't REALLY need a degree, as, lately a LOT of businesses are requiring more experience then degrees. (Everyone has a degree, but how much experience do you have?)
HOWEVER, a teenager will NOT get $40,000 a year EVER. (Unless you are doing something(s) illegally.)
Time and experience is what you need to earn the money.

Skilled auto mechanics - with serious experience, tools and talent - are the only ppl I know of that make that, however, the jobs are extremely hard to find. If you are at entry level - and as a teen you would have to be - I don't see how $40k could happen.
On the other hand you could sell illegal drugs. But don't forget to take into account jails, lawyers, replacing your shot up cars, buying bullets, moving, etc.

Be a waiter or a waitress at a really good restaurant. You can make OVER $200. a night at some restaurants. More if they have a bar. That does add up! You have to be good and you have to be fast, but you can make pretty darned good money. Bartenders , too.
