room by the nurse. She told me to hop on the exam table and grabbed the detachable thermometer from the wall. She told me to unzipp my jeans, which I did but was very embarrased. She pulled them down and grabbed my thong which I thought was very embarrasing and inappropriate!!!

Since when did they take temps rectally in kids anymore? Only for babies. Otherwise nurses use ear or even those new temporal scanner thermometer, ot at the very least orally.

Your story sounds unbelievable. I seriously hope you just made it up and this didn't happen. If you're still young enough to see a pediarician, where was your mom? Things like this should be reported.

By the way, if you're just trying to be funny to get attention, don't. Things like this aren't funny.

If you are not lying, which I am certain you are, then you need to tell your parent and report this incident. If you are seeing a pediatrician then a parent should be in the room with you and no one ever does rectal temps on anyone over the age of 2 years old and she would never pull your "thong" anywhere, if there was some clinical reason she had to have a rectal temp then she would have had you take your clothes off and would have informed you what was to happen and would have had you insert it with lubrication on it
Not to mention they do not use the wall thermometer for rectal they use a special one that is cleaned and sterilized between patients.

Well you didnt say what it was you was there for. Sometimes there is a need for that but from your doctor NOT the nurse. The nurse should have only done that if she/he was giving you a shot,or if there was something wrong with you like a rash or something and she/he would need to check it out.
How old are you? Lots of girls get embarrassed easily when going to the doctor. However if you did NOT feel right about the situation then you need to talk to an adult about it like your parents or another doctor or nurse at that office.

If you are still a child and going to a pediatrician [ rather than a gynecologist]. why did your mom let you go to the Dr alone . The pediatrician was a woman. If it was a man then you had something to complain about . She was a Dr and had other patients to take of and she probably was behind in taking her patients and couldn' play around .

You need to report her right away before she does this to someone else and someone gets hurt. She was very unprofessional with the way you were treated. I would cause such a fuss until she was suspended or fired!!!

At least she didn't shove the thermometer up your butt!

Perhaps you could ring and complain, or write and complain!

nightmare, if you ever feel uncomfortable in a situation like that, ask questions, they can't make you do anything until they have explained it to you.,
