What he's trying to say is that people have not risen above the level of animals. While we have a brain genetically, too many refuse to use it. Too many are selfish and closed-minded and thus are not taking advantage of the possibilities of using rational thought.
In other words, if we don't use our brains to think rationally, what good do they do us.

i dont know but i think that i am slefish....i admit it....charge me and condemn me....i am guilty....oooooooooooohhh thansk coryagraph.....okay well i have a hard time using mine cause i am mentally ill....nut i still try to use it to think ratinally! I sometimes wish that i could concentrate and think better but for now i am ahving a very ahrd time.. I try to answer what i can .....
