Yes, I too was addicted to Afrin. I had to have a bottle by my nightstand. I would go nuts looking for it, if it perhaps fell in the floor. Well, my husband made me stop using it. Now, if I get a little sniffle, I use Simply Saline. It's non habit forming. It costs about $3, and you can get it at any major drugstore. This stuff is great, I promise.

Yes it is bad to use nasal decongestant spray daily. In fact, I think they say no more than 3 days because some are so addicting and damaging.

It can be. A nasal spray that dries the interior of your nasal passsages can actually harm you more than help you if you use it too often.

You should always follow the directions printed. Medication through the nose is almost an instant entrance to the body and be quite addictive. ((Don;'t believe me? Remember cocaine blow?)) Some addicts lost the sensitivity and drainage capacity of the nose interior because the application dried it out so much the tissue was damaged.

Yes. They work only if used for a couple of days. But if you use them much more than that, they can actually make you feel worse. If pills don't work for you, you may need a different prescription.

Have you tried getting a allergy scratch test to pinpoint what is causing your allergies. I constantly had a stuffed nose - finally the doctor sent me to get the test done. I was allergic to a lot of things, but one thing was surprising - dust. I washed my sheets more often, cleaned the floors more often, got hypo-allergenic pillow and mattress covers. Also, tried to keep the windows at all times. If the room is dusty, I would run the A/C to clear up the air. Try to pinpoint what is actually causing the stuffed up nose.

Oh boy - that's not good. It's addicting, and not good.

I was once addicted to Afrin. Used it so much.... I had to make sure it was at my bedside just in case I needed it in the night.

I remember one time I was so stuffed up, and I was squirting that, and it wasn't working.... so I tilted my head back and squirted it again..... still didn't think it was working.... till all of a sudden I was choking on it, here it was poring out! Kinda gross I know, but that's when I realized I was addicted.

I recently got some stuff from my doctor.... called Rhinocort (spelling???), he gave me a sample. It's a spray, but its not bad for you. Might wanna give that a try.

My nose is always stuffed up, so i use that stuff.
On the backof the label it says not 2 use it everyday or something like that.
Be4 i used it every night over a period of time and it just makes ur nose even more stuffed up.
So i would just blow ur nose and only use the spray every once in a while.

High Blood pressure, It can mess up your sinuses worse. Please see your doctor. You'll be seriously glad you did. I was. If your doctor doesn't help you please try another or go to someone who deals in allergies. Good Luck. Sinus's Suck. If you don't wanna see your doctor try Clariton D 24 hours It was recently prescribed for over the counter use.

Your body becomes used to the spray after a few days and it loses its effectiveness.
