Do you have a septic system or is your sewerage piped to a sewerage plant?
If it is a spetic system it unfortunately sounds like you've got major problems. The water on you patio may be seeping out of your leech bed.
First thing to do would be call someone to suck it out. You need to locate the septic tank cap. If this is the problem, and you don't address it, the sewage will back up INTO your house!
Good luck. Do it now. If you wait until winter when the ground if frozen you will be in deep shlt----in more ways than one.

Sounds like you have a collapsed sewer line, that's why there is water in your yard. You can dig it up and replace the Section yourself with pvc pipe, prpbably 4", or replace the whole line, which may be better. Sometimes the old clay pipe just gets old and falls apart, or maybe someone knocked a hole in it to snake it out and coverd it with a piece of metal to cover the hole and prevent dirt from getting into it. But tree roots probably found a hole and grew into the pipe and broke it.

Have the hot water heater checked out.... Inside of the hot water heater their is a magnesium bar... This bar takes the impurities out of water... If the magnesium bar is full of water imputes, it will give the water a sulfur, rotten egg or sewer smell.... When the magnesium bar is taken out or replaced.... The smell if gone... A qualified pumber can take out the magnizium bar in about 2 minutes...
