Genital herpes is caused by herpes virus- HSV. HSV are of two types- HSV1 and HSV2. HSV1 causes more of oral herpes and HSV 2 causes more of genital herpes. But HSV1 can also affect the genital area and cause herpes. Genital herpes is contacted by sexual contact. Anybody who has genital herpes can pass on the virus to his/her partner through a cut in the skin or mucous membrane. If somebody has cold sores and performs oral sex, he/she can also transmit the virus and cause genital herpes in partner.

Once the virus enters the body, it multiplies rapidly. The herpes virus remains in the body and may either be active or inactive. During the active period, the virus travels to the genital area and causes sores. During inactive period, it remains dormant in the body. When genital herpes is contacted, virus shows up in the first episode of herpes and after that goes in to sleeping mode to recur again.

1. Genital herpes & cold sores:
If your partner has cold sores (carrier of virus type1), he/she can pass that on to you by performing oral sex on you. You will get herpes simplex sores on your genitals as a result.

2. Pregnancy & genital herpes:
A woman who is having active sores or having her first outbreak of genital herpes can pass on the disease to her newborn. If you are pregnant and believe that you have symptoms of herpes, please inform your doctor. Doctors begin treatment with anti-viral medications to safeguard your child and may also suggest cesarean delivery.

3. Prevention:
The best safeguard for genital herpes is to have a single partner who is free of herpes. If not, use of latex condoms and minimizing partners may reduce the risk.

4. Affected Areas:
In men, the affected areas of genital herpes include- urethra, penis, scrotum, anus and buttocks. In women, the herpes appears on external genitals, vagina, cervix, buttocks and anus.

5. Silent Transmission:
In many cases of genital herpes, the affected person, who does not have any signs of active sores, can also pass on the virus.

6. Cure:
There is no cure for genital herpes. You can get treated whenever you get active sores (ulcers). But after the treatment, the virus will remain dormant in your body.

7. Recurrence:
Some people get active genital herpes only once, while others may have several recurrences through their lifetime.

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes (type 2) about 4 years back, whilst I was still attending college and had a mindless one-night stand. I know lots of girls say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date other men again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores round her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/xDyyf everything changed.

Not only was I able to clear away all remnants of the herpes virus from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This method provided me the chance to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others too by sharing this story.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

you should always let someone know if you have a disease before you do anything with them no matter what they think of you it's the fact that at least you told the truth you know but that isn't your question but yes you can give someone herpes in their mouth and then they give another person oral and then they carry on the herpes so that is a bad idea
