Reformat, or if you have a newer Dell, they come with the option of PC Restore, which makes it like you just took your comp out of hte box. It's Ctrl-F11 when the little blue Dell bar comes across the top of the bootscreen, and you hold that, then it'll ask you if you want to continue, etc. Follow directions.

With out knowing your OS, and programs you may want to reinstall, it's hard to be specific about what you need to do. Many people wipe their hard drives clean only to later find that critical drivers needed for hardware are missing and hard to replace. My computer also has a hidden program that tells the computer what to do when I put it in sleep or standby mode. If you have peripheral hardware like a scanner, camera, wireless link etc. You may want a professional to do it if your inexperienced at such things. The links I provided below may be of some help. There are also software programs available that can help save drivers and installed programs for re-installation.
Good luck.

Are you referring to reformatting your hard drive and reinstalling the OS?
This will certainly get rid of everything.

Take it to a computer shop and ask for it to be wiped. or you could do it yourself by deleting everything...but I would rather suggest taking it to someone who knows what theyre doing
good luck
