so to cut a long story short there is this lady in my town 74 who is spreading a rumour that im having an affair on my feonce like after all the things iv done for her moved her house bought her wardrobes got her shopping visited her in hospital i just cant believe it this is all over her wanting us to move her house again we said unfortunatly we are unable to help you this time she went skitso said we are not her friends etc like what should i do she is a user and she walks to my house every day sits on my front verander waiting for me its awful she feeds my dog cooked bones shes obviously not all there any suggestions ?

1. Start a rumor that she is a man. Or WAS a man before the surgery.
2. Feed her cooked bones.
3. Be as nice as pie to her until she kicks off. Maybe she'll leave you in the will.
4. Whatever you do, DO NOT retaliate, it'll only make things worse. Old people have nothing better to do than to think about how to make someone's life hell.

She is obviously out of her mind or senile, you really shouldn't waste your time on her. Other people have probably viewed her in the same fashion that you have. But if you really want to get to her without doing too much, just tell her that you are going to sue her for defamation (screwing up your reputation) this will really scare her. And try to tell her that you have a list of names of people whom she has spoken with that will testify against her. This will really scare her. I feel bad but sometimes old people can be really mean. They feel as if they can treat people however they want because they are older and have gone through alot as if society owes them something. Believe me I have dealt with old batty ladies before.
Actually a good friend of mine had a problem similar to yours. She let an old lady live in her house as a house keeper. This lady practically raised my friend's husband and my friend wanted to help this lady out. So my friend hires this lady as her house keeper, she pays her well, the old lady doesnt pay for food and has allows the old lady to live there for free. And then the old lady started taking advantage of my friend, she wouldnt clean the house, she would watch tv and eat all of the food since she was home alone most of the day it was easy for her and to top it off she started spreading rumors about my friend saying that my friend would mistreat her kids and would mistreat her (old lady) and that she would abuse her old age and all kinds of false comments. So my friend kicked her out of the house and told her that she was going to sue her for defamation and the old lady stopped.

Wow.... Is she really waiting for you on YOUR veranda, feeding your dog? If she weren't elderly, I'd say call the police. Does she have relatives nearby? Could try telling them what's going on so they can help her. Otherwise you might just need to overlook her behavior. Surely no one who matters believes the rumor?

Sounds like my mother.........My mom was recently diagnosed with dimentia (she's 82) and told my family that I stole thousands of dollars from her and gambled it away at a casino........LOL......I've never been to one in my life......The best way to handle these people is to be kind and remember that they are feeble, but stay on your guard as in they can also be viscious........I feel your pain, hun.........

ignore her. she's a user and abuser if there ever was one. i doubt anybody listens to the old biddy anyway. and even if they do, so what? you know the truth. your husband knows the truth. don't worry about it.

I think you should just ignore it. She is older and prolly lonely. She is prolly hurt that she doesn't think you are her friend. She'll get over it.
