ND should not have been ranked that high in the first place. Yes!
About 5 to 8 spots were they should be.
But they won't, they are media darlings, fan favorites, BCS biased, NBC money maker and a bunch of more crap.
By the way did you know,
They have lost their last 8 bowl games, yes that right 8!
To the following teams:
Ohio State
Oregon (2)
N. C. State
Georgia Tech
Louisiana St.
Florida St.
Colorado
They have not won a bowl game since 1994! This is proof that they have been overmatched and ranked too high at the end of the year! But placed in these bowl games for the wrong reasons.
They are always given to much credit, as evidenced by a few NO votes of my question!

Georgia Tech is a good team. Did anyone else in the top 5 play a team as good as GT on the road? It is so early in the year, I don't think it is crucial if you are no.1 thru no.5. You are right the Penn State and Michigan games will give the ND fans a chance to better evauluate the teams chances for a national title.

Most of the other teams who "dominated" their opponents this weekend played cupcakes. What's more impressive, a road win over GT who's upset Auburn and Miami, who has Calvin Johnson and a great defense, or a home win over Akron, Northern Illinois, or Vanderbilt? At least ND has the guts to open its season against a real time on the road.
The only top team that got exposed this weekend was Cal. Nice work Vols!

Most people realized that Georgia Tech is good, has a record of beating great opponents, and that the game would not be a blowout. Notre Dame should get the benefit of the doubt and only drop a spot and USC should move up a slot ahead of them.

They should not even be ranked. They are a figment of a lot of people's imagination, they should go ahead and present their quarterback with the HEISMAN TROPHY, because everyone thinks he has already gotten it.I myself, am already tired of that line."Imagine my feelings by the end of the season." O" By the way, I never knew that teams were allowed to bring their on officials, to the away games. If you watched the game, and didn't pick up on it, you are not very bright. Probably a record for instant replays, which all went against Ga. Tec.

Georgia Tech has been known to make upsets. Notre Dame should have beat the living $ h i t out of Georgia Tech, but they didn't because of their defence. Notre Dame just got lucky, but luck won't save then the rest of the season.
btw, Georgia Tech should have been ranked, but they weren't.

They should stay where they are at. Rankings early in the year get fans involved and mean nothing. Wait until the end of September to judge who should be in the running for the BCS.

Are you kidding? GT beat Auburn and miami on the road last year. Plus, GT always plays that style of play- low scoring defensive struggles. But PSU wil bring down ND next week!

Yeah, they should drop a couple of spots. They should be at most #5, behind Ohio State, Texas, Auburn and West Virginia.

Ooh...i love both....yet i ought to ought to say that baked potato wins via an rather narrow margin. i'm questioning about the melted cheese, chives, bitter cream, 1st Baron Beaverbrook bits, pepper, and different distinctive yummies you are able to positioned on a baked potato... ascertain that is a huge russet potato because for baked potatoes those are outstanding!
