What kind of fish do you keep? Many animals are cannibalistic.
You are the "higher intelligence." It is up to you to provide proper habitat for the animals that you purchase.
To do this, you must learn about them before you bing them home.
If you are unwilling to invest the time and effort to learn about the needs of an animal, please reconsider ownership.

I had a goldfish which was about 6 in. long. He looked lonesome so I bought some rosy reds which are supposed to be tank mates for goldfish. Problem was, they were smaller than the goldfish's mouth.....so he ate them-- except for one which swam really, reaLLY fast. This one swam for it's life until it was too big of a bite for the bully goldfish -- then it didn't have to live life on the run anymore ;)
Later,I bought some shubunkins (goldfish tank mates also)-----same thing happened. They were too small and the hungry goldfish considered them a better meal than the flakes that I served regularly ----so he ate them :(
Lesson learned---- Even if they are considered tank mates, buy fish of equal sizes or they will get "et"! <---- eaten.

Very normal. Big fish eat small fish, that's just the way it goes. Buy a similar sized fish.

This is really rare. Especially in the tropical fish world. If one fish is bigger than another or if a mother gives birth they may eat the babies. So be sure to have live plants in the tank so they can nible on it. and it also give the fish hiding places.

That is why you don't put very small fish in a tank with much larger fish. If you get another fish, it needs to more or less match up size wise.

Its normal. What kind of fish is it. Maybe you got a fish thats suppose to be aggresive. When you buy fish, you should ask if they are aggresive or non egressive. Dont worry! There wil be a type of fish that you can put in your tank without a problem! : )

This is normal if you put in fishes of different species (type) in the same tank. Ask your aquarium stockist as to what fishes can be put together in the same tank.

What kind of fish is it? Did it eat another fish while the other fish was alive? Or do you mean it's eating it's dead remains?

Fish eat each other all the time. I suggest your next fish be bigger than the last one.
