If the baiting is all in good fun, there is nothing wrong with it.
If it means a reaffirmation of your values, then that person has issues and a lack of self-confidence.

Both men and women do it. It can be nice foreplay.

But if it is used in a manipulative manner....it is so wrong.

i don't fish for compliments that is pathetic. when I complain about myself i mean it, I want people to complain about me too. Mostly cause I had a friend, we used to carpool together, and one day she was sitting in the backseat, and said, "i'm skinny" now this girl was anything but skinny, but we (my other friends) couldn't tell her that cause she'd get mad, but we couldn't say she was cause that would be lying, so we sort of sat there and it was awkward and i don't want to do it again.
