I guess it is fashionable for them to display their ignorance and lack of tolerance to millions of people in cyberspace.

People do this on all online discussions it seems. If you try to have an organized political discussion, or one about religion, or in this case homosexuality, there are always people who come in and are quite rude and just make fun of our beliefs and treat us like dirt. Its not fair to us or those who actually respect what we have to say.
I'm not sure there is a good reason why people can't give others respect, but even people within the gay, lesbian community cause disrespect to those who believe different, as if in retaliation. Its a vicious circle. Not all mind you, as part of the GLB community, I find most are very respectful, and I'm certain there is a large majority of the straight community, liberal community, conservative community who are also respectful even if they don't agree. However there is a minority of strongly opinionated individuals who refuse to give reason or respect and instead just trash without consideration. We can't get away from it, but we can move forward and try to not let it get to us.

The majority of them are whiny, impotent little assholes who don't have the bollocks to confront anyone in real life. So, they come into our territory, flinging their arms about and shouting "devil devil devil!" when they really should be paying attention to what's wrong in their own lives. They're miserable in their pews and just can't stand that someone could be happy in their beliefs when they don't flagellate themselves with ideas of sin and hatred.
And the rest are brainwashed children who gay bash because the aforementioned assholes tell them that it'll get them on the good side with their deity.
I guess we'll see who gets the pat on the head when they get up to the pearly gates- the ones who spew hate and hurt others intentionally, or those who lead a peaceful, loving life.

One very important reason is that if they are religious zealots, they see this as a safe venue to spew their intolerant beliefs, some with the mistaken idea that they are helping LGBT people.
Another, related reason is that their own traditional religious groups don't approve of their approach to gay issues so they find a "home" here, so to speak, to get out their frustrations.
I think a third reason is that they get 2 points for answering any open question, and 2 points is better than nothing.

I'm straight but not hateful, so I can't really relate to them, so I am just guessing here, but I'd suggest that they may be trying very hard to deny their own latent homosexual feelings. After all, nothing stings the psyche of a bigot like feeling left out of the fun.

because they are miserable, disturbed little trolls who apparently have nothing better to do and nothing going on good in their own lives. they've been raised in ignorance and hatred, and I suppose it might make them feel superior somehow to pass judgment on others. problem is, it only makes them look like the hateful @ssholes that they are. AND they know if they said some of the nasty, hateful things to someones face instead of in here, they'd get their @sses whooped!
feel big and tough on the other side of your computer do ya? bet you're nothing but a wimp in reality. can you look in the mirror and be proud of who you see?

I myself are not gay or bisexual, but even l find some people's comments very offencive when the are referring to homosexuals. There really isn't any need for their comments, but on the flip side everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you are happy with who you are inside and out, then you should take their rotten comments with a pitch of salt, because these people's close minded comments are not worth wasting your breath on.Take care and best of luck to you.

a lot of people like to be right all the time (even if they do not understand something), a lot of people don't like change, and a lot of people dislike or even hate those that are different.
It is the same in the Vegan and Vegetarian section, most of the answers are from people who eat meat trying to get others eat meat. (some have the nerve to explain why people are vegetarians)

I guess for the same reason the Atheist have over run the Religious & Spirtuality section. Or the pre-teens have over run the pregnancy section. People are courious, stupid and have freedom of speech. But yes, rather odd.

The same reason people talk against Christians.
Easy targets. People KNOW that they will start a controversial conversation. Here on YA, they also know they can hide behind their computers and avatars and say whatever they want without actually confronting anyone. They do it to piss you off. Don't allow them the satisfaction! Ignore them !
