None. Steve Forbes worked out a flat tax plan, soups to nuts, no unanswered questions. He was spanked like a school boy in the primaries but nobody has picked up on his proposal since, nor are any politicians to anytime soon.

Republicans need unlimited taxes to wage economy stimulating wars. Democrats need unlimited taxes to create endless entitlement programs. They both need unlimited taxes to craft designer legislation to payback the corporations and special interest groups that donated to the national political parties.

None is my guess; a flat tax tends to raise the tax rates on the wealthiest segments of a population while decreasing the taxes on the poorer segments. Politicians not only tend to be in the wealthier segments...they tend to be funded by those segments. So while they would plead the case that they're for one in theory, they would probably state they'd need to see details on how it would be implemented, and repeat this no matter how clearly the plan is spelled out. Voting for such a tax however appropriate and good for the nation it would be, would be political suicide. And sadly, there are very few politicians willing to do good at the cost of their own personal gain.

actually all studies show a flat tax would increase the governments wealth.. the porblem is most of those guys are on boards of drug companies and other major buisness in which they get paid millions.. i doubt very many of them would be willing to give up their massive income and elite status over the rest of us.. 10% of a million is alot of money.. and u have to cosider intrest paid on money horded up.. that accounts to quite a large some of money coming out of congress and the leaders pockets.. the bottom line is they are not doing it for the bennefit of the country like they let on.. it is to keep more money in their own pockets that it has not passed already..

I live in New York State...do you realize how much revenue would be lost on a flat tax? Not to mention that all of those tax experts would be out of jobs finding ways to legally keep much more than than pay...zero, zilch, nada; there is no way a flat tax will ever fly no matter how much Mr. Forbes says it will be good for us.

ZERO. They want to spend our money like it's our money, not theirs.

To make it happen we are going to have to force the issue. Email all of them, once a month. If everyone who wanted this change and told them we would not vote for them until they make the change, it can happen.

One of my senators hates writing back to my emails because he is a socialist and disagrees with everything I ask. I told him last time to stop writing back and I would do everything I could to see he is not reelected. He does not write back anymore.

None-because they would not have any loop-holes and would be required to pay more taxes than they do as it is.
