I'm from the UK and I happen to know all about California from the TV and movies.
It's where these hard-bodied young women dressed in amazingly small swimwear skate everywhere instead of walking. Youths in big ol' baggy trousers do hip-hop dancing around huge ghetto blasters, typically to the chanting of "Buffalo Girls" or Run DMC. David Haselhoff lives on the beach there, and sucks his belly in a lot. Pam Anderson runs in slow motion through breaking surf. And Arnold Schwarzenegger (sp) is the King of California; he rides around on a Harley dressed in leathers to ensure that law and order is maintained throughout the province.
California is a long strip of beach.

The West Side of what? The only West Side I know of is the Broadway musical, West Side Story.

Completely from the East side in New England and the general consensus here is that California is full of fruits and nuts. Nice place to visit but wouldn't want to live there.

I'm from IL. California seems like a nice place to go on vacation. Nice weather and many places to visit.
