How does one make friend's at age 33. I moved and really do not know people. How does on feel safe around international friends and American friends in general when so much of our society seems crime or gay oriented? If you straight, no drugs, and ok.

Your fear a big problem for most of us. Instead of categorizing who is dangerous by certain criteria, trust your gut, not your head. You sound as though you have made judgments and broad discrimination's.
I can tell you, most assuredly from my experience that it does not matter the label a person holds but their ability for compassion. I have come across people of every sector and find that it is not about what they are labeled, but where their heart is, and how they treat others.
Do you honestly think a gay person is an enemy? They are just trying to survive in this very difficult world like all of us. You have questions, we all have questions, and ways that we are, that we just can't seem to get a hold of.
How to make friends? Be kind, understanding, compassionate, and nonjudgmental, be a human.
Oh wait, that has not really worked for me, find a group who supports all your beliefs, bury into your hole and continue to propagate intolerance and discrimination. I am sure you will make many friends this way, at least lately.

The question is not how to make friends. We all know how to do that. Just by being nice. The question is who do you want as friends, and where do you find these people. Maybe you need to develop interests and meet like-minded people through activities in those realms.

That's hard. I went thru the same thing when I moved. I'd met people and think they were cool then they'd have an undercover drug habit, drinking problem, or want me to have a threesome with them. Just stick with the people who you work with at first then branch otu to the people you meet thru them.

This is my policy.........The greatest friend of truth is time.......Be friendly but don't go out looking for a friend per se........as time goes by and you get to "know" people then you decipher who you want to get close to and who should just remain an acquaintance. Aight!!!

its very heard to make friends anymore b/c if you have views that aren't like anyone else's then people just tihnk they don't have to be around you... like your not good enough
