I've been known to numb myself with self cutting and lots of sweets. What about you? I know more are less morbid than mines.

I sit outdoors and listen to the crickets, peep frogs, and to the wind blow. But I live in the country and own 44 acres, so that's a natural blank out time for me when I feel too intense. Or I walk, just going nowhere, to feel the muscles moving at a fast pace, ready to be away from whatever and just look around at things that surround me, wonder how they make it in this stressful world.

It helps sometimes to just see a bird, or a bug on the road and say, "Hmm, they aren't stressed over anything right now, and I want to be that free" Then try to steal their aura and respect for life and use it for my own. Sometimes it helps to just think 'they are provided for, no matter what happens', so I am too.

Nature doesn't hurry, and somehow it all gets done anyways.

Otherwise, I listen to music, visit Yahoo Answers and try to be helpful. Or I read friends blogs to escape from whatever else is on my mind, I dive into their worlds and absorbs some of what they are experiencing.

Aww Man.. STOP cutting, it's leaves crappy scars, and that's something no one wants to see, even if it feels good, it looks horrific and scares off potential positive energy , there are millions of ways to numb other than cutting, try SOMETHING else and TRY to stop that........K?

Based on some of your previous questions, my advice is get to a therapist. I used to be numb all the time, but with therapy and stuff, I'm usually happy and content instead of needing to hurt/numb myself. It sounds like you're coping with the pain of your past by tearing your own flesh. The pain and blood pour out, and all that's left is that familiar cold emptyness. There's better ways of living than being stuck in that hell. I spent 7 years there before I escaped. It's possible!

I sit down and watch the girls in my school at their fencing club. I always enjoyed a good sword fight and I am not allowed to play, so I sit down and watch them and get lost in the clang of the foils. Heh, I am not allowed to do alot of stuff, so I let myself watch and live vicariously from others. I am in a lot of pain thanks to the neuro problem but sometimes forcing yourself to be happy may create enough serotonin to kick in the numbness. I unfortunately I do shut down when things get too hard to function, so that is when I get really comfortable.

I've never had any desire to "numb" myself. Why on earth would you want to be numb? There is another word for numbing yourself... being dead.

I think you need to talk to a professional about your desire to numb yourself to life and your cutting.

Self-cutting? What is "numb/comfort?" I comfort myself with being creative and doing the things that I love to do to make me happy. I have no desire to numb myself. You sound like maybe you need someone to talk to. Feel free to visit my 360 page and maybe we can talk...

Everyone has a way to escape. Endorphins make you feel good and away. Alchohol, drugs, cutting, tattoos, etc are all ways to kick in endorphins. Find a non destructive way to escape. There are allot of them. Look for adrenaline fixes and you will find them. Or email me and I can suggest a few.

Why? WHY? WHY?

You are obviously halfway healthy and intelligent you knew how to ask a question on the internet anyway. WHY? Life is so short. There are so many things in life that are horrible...do you really need to make something up for yourself?

It's sad. REally sad. I don't know why but it pisses me off to hear about people who cut. WHY?

I guess I eat, listen to music, get out my trusty vibrator, cry, take a drive, walk my dog, paint, draw, talk to somebody.

I get not liking life. I get it trust me. But you are alive aren't you? Don't throw it away. Find something to love(like yourself)...remember things you used to love doing whenever and do it.

Don't waste your precious life. Some people don't get the choice to waste theirs and they'd kill for yours.

I always have a good cry in the shower. That does the trick for me. By the water washing the tears from my face, it's metaphorically washing away my stresses.

A cig afterward is perfect.

Food and Wellbutrin. I wish I was more positive. I really do. I just can't seem to get that idea down.

Why do you need to numb yourself. Perhaps you are feeling guilty?
