When the mother wakes up and her daughter is gone she's already in Silent Hill aka. "Purgatory." She resolves her daughters problem but she stays in Silent Hill because she is dead and so she can become God in Silent Hill 3 or 4 or some **** like that. It's all in the game you nerd.

I recalled the dark spirit enter into the daughter and made her mom think she was home only it was in the spirit's world.

they got trapped in a different dimension pretty much. when they got in that car crash. thats why when the father is looking for them its sunny ther and when the mother and the daughter r ther, its all ashy.
