It's past time. But it will never happen. Way too much cash will be taken out of politicians' hands.

Well I don't know if it should be Apr 15th or Jun 15th or Nov 15. There has to be a deadline for one to report their income $$ though.
RE: Tax rate being flat. I HAVE, DO, an always WILL believe, regardless of who is in office, or if one is a Dem, Rep, or an idiot, that there should be a flat tax rate for all. Period. End of discussion.

i say a 10% flat tax, and a 1% consumption tax.. in addition to the sin and luxery taxes that already stand.. i do however feel we should do away with the inheritance tax..
you have to have a deadline so that everyone complies... i would vote for a jan 30 deadline.. without a deadline there would be no reason to comply..

Please, oh please, or I would gladly settle for a sales tax, which would really be more fair. Maybe you exempt things like food you have to cook, not restaurants or fast food.

Progressive taxation is criminal and congress is in violation of Article 1 Section 8. It must stop.

Additionally and this may be the most important aspect, it would reduce our budget by over $1.5 billion dollars a year, forever.

Eliminate the IRS NOW!!!!!!!!!!

As far as when to pay, maybe make it monthly, no withholding, make everyone write a check, make it hit home how much Congress is spending of OUR money. Maybe if everyone had to write a check they would get up and tell those jerks in DC to stop spending our money on stupid stuff.

I think it's time for a flat tax with some conditions. I generally believe a consumption tax is fair once you account for basic living expenses. The more you have, the more you'll spend and the more taxes you'll generate. 10% is probably not enough.

One needs a deadline of some sort, and 4.5 months after the close of the tax year is as sensible as any. As for a flat 10% rate, it would work considerable hardship on the poorest part of the population.

Something like a 10% flat tax is way over due. This should be applied across the board for every one

it will never happen because of the way the system works and the illegal laws that are in place .... the money loaned to the govt is GUARANTEED to be repaid to the banks ..the federal reserve ...by ur taxes and the irs .... the ONLY way to achieve that is by abolishing the federal reserve system and for congress to take back the money powers and the issueing power. ,, its a great idea ... kennedy was shot for having that idea ... but first you have to get past the powerful people that control it and they are not elected officials.

I'd be for it if politicians and rich people remembered that 10% of minimum wage has a LOT more impact on the wage earner than 10% of $100,000 or more.

If a rich person loses 10% of his check to taxes, he's still going to be able to buy that boat. He certainly wouldn't have to worry where his next meal is coming from, or choose between medication and food.

It would surely cut down on paperwork for everyone.
Tax preparers would probably not be for this idea.
The IRS would need to lay off most their staff.
I'd like to see it given a try, but I'm sure there would
be people who would say it is racist like the picture ID
for voting idea.

as long as people who fit in a huge tax bracket have to pay like we do now and the 10% holds off the people in a lesser tax bracket till they get there
