Yep! I know several women who safely have children after 40. You would need to talk to your doctor, though to make sure "you" can safely do it after 40.
I am sure you are aware, though, that the risks for down syndrome (and twins, I heard) are higher after 40.

Well of course they can and do...but the risks go up exponentially. Down's syndrome in particular. Remember that women in their 40's are still working with the eggs they had at birth...so those eggs are that much older than those of a 20 or 30 y.o.
I would recommend genetic counseling prior to conception (so you know the risks) and have a good long discussion about the "what-ifs". Good luck!

Yes... BUT after 45, the risk for Down Syndrome is 1 in 4.

Yes, I know a few women who have had very healthy children, and they gave birth after the age of 45... but yes. As you get older, there are more health complications for you and the baby... but your answer is yes.

Women that are older than 40 have conceived. If you are healthy then there is no reason why not

Yes. She has some higher risks to herself anf of birth defects, but as long as she is being cared for by a OB?GYN and taking good care of herself, and in good health- sure.

yes my aunt was 43 i think when she gave birth with my cousin it did take a lot of tries though because as you most likely know a women's eggs age and become weaker as they get older
