The Aerobie Pro flying disc.

It has the record in the Guiness book of World Records: 1,333 feet (406 meters), which beat the old Aerobie record of 1,257 feet set in 1985.

(I include both the aerobie.com source, plus (as aerobie.com may not be impartial), a Stanford University source as well.)

Not sure. But, I saw in the news the other day that a man threw a cell phone 292 feet. That's almost the length of a football field. A long freakin way.

By hand, and without using aerodynamic lift, probably a spear. The spear can be prepared to optimize its aerodynamics and its weight can be adjusted so as to best match the muscular power of a human arm.

Under best conditions - a balsa wood airplane.

Ha, now I've got this in my head, AARGH!

Is it cheating to use the wind? If not I'll stick with aerodynamic things. Airplanes.

a x-zylo can be thrown pretty far, but i think a flying disc, such as one of the above answers is the record holder.

putting 'physically' aside, a human can "throw" his words pretty far, using the internet.
