I've been interested in learning to play for awhile, and i wanted to know which you thought i should learn to play... i wanted to play the bass for awhile because it is something different, but my friend recently bought an acoustic guitar and i like to play it (what i know how to play, which is not much at all).... i don't know if i would like to play the bass as much because i've never played it but i am sort of interested...
i would like playing the bass because not as many people play it, but is it as fun to play?

I suggest you to keep learning the guitar, since it is an instrument you can play solo.
The bass has 2 strings less, so if you can pick the notes on a guitar you can on a bass too, since the tuning of the first four strings is the same.
There are some (actually many) specific techniques to know to master the bass, but if you're lookin for fun you should keep up with the guitar. You'll be able to play a bass basically after too...

Acoustic guitar is waaayy better than bass. Sounds better anyways. Bass is easier to learn but bass guitar strings are expensive and they're hard to hold down to make the chord.

Bass is easier, and to me it's boring. If someone can play the bass it's no big deal, but if you can play an acoustic guitar real well, it is more impressive.

If you are truly meant to play bass, the instrument will choose you. It takes a special kind of nut to play the bass. Dowhatchalike.
