How do I find out if the house that I rent is in pre forclosure or already in forclosure. If it is, am I still obligated to pay the owner rent?

You would have to check the court records in the county you are in to determine if the house is in the process of being foreclosed upon.

In any event, yes, you have to keep paying rent. You have a contract with your landlord that requires you to pay rent. If your landlord is foreclosed, it is likely that your tenancy will be terminated. At that time, you will no longer be obligated to pay rent.

You don't get something for nothing in this world.

The only way that I know of to find out is to call the owner and ask. This may not be polite, but if you really want to know then this is the only way I can think of.

You are still obligated to pay rent- just because the owner of the house is having mortgage problems does not mean that you do not owe rent anymore. Continue to pay your rent, otherwise the owner has the right to kick you out.

Contact the owner.
