My favorite president was Warren G. Harding because people talk so negatively about him and he is an underdog when we rate presidents. I also like the fact he was so friendly, outgoing, and a common man like me. This is based on books I read about him.

I haven't really liked any of the presidents that I can remember (that's Ford through the present, I was born in the late 60s)

I dislike in people what causes them to want to do things like become president I guess

Gerald Ford because he is the only President that did nothing wrong. The Presidents real job is foreign ambassador. It should be a not political job as should Supreme Court job be none political. Making law and declaring war are the job of Congress. I think very few Americans even realize this. They give way power and control to the President that he should never have had.

Teddy Roosevelt; A soldier who advocated peace through strong positions and international law, a hunter who believed that future generations should not be impoverished by wasteful use of natural resources, he established the basis for the US to become a world power. He also had the foresight to limit the growth of monopoly business, something that other presidents have ignored to the world's peril recently.

His own moral strength and courage made him a great person as well.

That's a difficult call. Certainly Washington and Lincoln would rate highly on anyone's list, but I think I'd have to pick Ronald Reagan. He advocated his policies with wit and humor as well as determination, and was as responsible as any one person could be for the fall of the Soviet Union. Also, he made major progress in reform of taxation.

Mine would easily be Teddy Roosevelt because I consider him the complete president. He was tough when he had to be and compassionate when he needed to be. He cared about protecting the environment, yet still cared about helping Americans prosper. He went after government corruption and corporate monopolies with equal gusto.

He was his own man and, as far as I know, could not be bought by special interests groups. Unlike Bush or Clinton, no one ever questioned his moral fiber.

He also believed in a strong military and yet was quick to lend a helping hand to those who needed it.

Teddy Roosevelt, as he started the National Park system. He was climbing Mt. Marcy in the Adirondacks when McKinley was shot. TR rode through the night to a local train station, changing horses as he went full speed, to ride to Buffalo. This is my kind of leader.

anyone who said clinton is hot is deranged. ronald reagon was the best president america ever had, though washington, jefferson, and teddy roosevelt were all great. i think everyone is too hard on truman for dropping the a-bomb, especially since FDR authorized it and truman wasnt informed of its existence until billions had been spent making it and it was ready to be dropped.
