It's possible. Anything is possible. But why would anyone want to? Pain and suffering help mold a person's character. Those twins help a person define their unique identity. Without pain and suffering....can any human truly appreciate the opposite?

I don't think so & I'll take those with gratitude, for they teach me about myself & they help me reach out to others who might be behind me on the path of life.

Not totally. But you can learn to accept it and live with it. In my own experience I have found it more useful to let the pain wash over and through me, not fighting it. During childbirth I had lots of time to experiment with this and if I tensed up or tried to will the pain away it hurt more than I could bear. But when I learned to breathe through the pain, relaxed physically and allowed it pass unhindered it was almost a thing disconnected from me.
I have some very painful chronic things going on in my life now and if I can remain relaxed and not put too much awareness on the pain it is bearable. I still cannot do this well with toothache pain or some headache, but I am working on it.
Pain is a part of life. Everyone has it. Some more than others. The only thing we can change is how we think about it.

If by pain you mean like a head ache, the answer is yes. If by suffering you mean the loss of a loved one, the answer is again yes.

Someone posted that pain and suffering are character builders, I have to agree. Our human experiences are a totality of these builders. A degree of appreciation would be lost without the experience of these character builders. We are the sum of all our parts.

Escaping is not a bad thing so long as one keeps the experience.

Is it possible to escape yourself? Many people try, with drugs and alcohol, but they always return to the same sobering place.

You are looking for answers, but through the fog of pain, don't accept just any answer. You are searching for truth. Concentrate on verification and analysis of truth, then confirmation, and build a foundation of truth from which all answers spring eternal.

I have found many people searching for truth. It is indeed difficult to find in today's world. Everything seems to be instant gratification without truth or morals, but rather whatever people want it to be. You can choose confusion, or you can choose truth.

So many people have the same problems, by not determining truth first, that I started a website. Actually, it began when I found out the truth about Federal Gov't, so that is the focus of the website, but not your focus .

When you go there to the website, along the left side near the bottom, click on "Articles."

From the Articles-Contents page, click on "Essay." This will explain to you about truth and its importance in your life. It is rather long, about six pages, so it would be better to print it and sit down in your easy chair so you can concentrate.

When you are done with the Essay, then read the article titled "Finding Truth."

If you have problems, rebuttals, or want more discussion, please contact me. Or if you just wish to write, please tell me which parts effected you most.

the buddhists believe that life is suffering and can be escaped through enlightenment gained by the practice of various mental and physical exercises (jains and hindus appear to believe it, as well, but i'm making a generalisation about all three religion-philosophies).
