hi all, im using a 4 1/2 and i find that its too big instead of getting a new 4 3/8 if i were to shave the grip small will it loose its racket balance and how will it effect the whole racket.

I'm not only a nationally certified Tennis Instructor and a tennis racquet restringer, but I'm also a Mechanical Engineer. So, I feel particularly qualified to answer your question.

Go ahead and shave your grip because shaving so very little material from your grip will essentially have no effect upon your racquet's balance.

Be careful. The grips are not as they were with wooden rackets . they are hollow under the wood or plastic that is on the outside under the over-wrap. If you sand it or shave it you may and will go through and your racket will be unusable.
