Ernesto is the fifth named Atlantic Ocean Storm. The Pacific has two regions for which storms are named, the eastern Pacific, which is Japan, China, Austrailia, etc., and the Western Pacific, which is Mexico, Alaska, and the US Coast, plus the Hawaiian and other central Pacific Islands. Thus, they have different names for storms.
